Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffNovember 7, 2008This simple freeware text editor offers features that are, for the most part, already found in Windows Notepad. ScratchPad offers basic text-editing tools such as cut, copy, and paste text, change font, and print. Unlike similar programs it doesn't offer advanced features such as changing case or converting code. On the plus side, ScratchPad can save notes internally as well as to a text file. Saved notes are displayed in a simple list with the date, note title, and partial text shown. Just click one to open it. You'll also be able to send notes through an e-mail server such as Outlook. ScratchPad minimizes to the system tray for easy access. It's not feature-rich, but any user looking for a simple program to keep and manage notes can use ScratchPad at no charge. Users can enter 10 notes during the trial period.
